Personalized Stamps Using Your Own Pictures

I know that we are in the era of emails but regular snail-mail is still important for alot of uses. So Stamps.com is offering personalized stamps where you can upload your own pictures to use. I went through the process and got myself some MFT stamps. haha. See the picture below to see how it’ll look like.
The first thing I thought of was to use my own fish pictures as stamps. How cool would that be? Here are some examples I used…

They even have images ready for you to use (like favorite sports team and etc) so if you don’t have any images you want to use right now, you can still try it out.

As a stamp collector I’m not a big fan of these. These stamps will never be collectible (at least in the sense that they will be assigned a Scott number or similar way to ID a stamp). Collectors like myself see these as just another version of the labels used by the post office; the use of these types of postage limit the use of commemorative postage stamps, therefore decreasing what is available to the collector.
Any way, that’s just my two cents worth…
i used to collect stamps when i was a kid! i don’t think any of my personalized stamps will be worth anything to anyone but to me. i think it would be a cool thing for like weddings or special events where you want to make it as personalized as much as possible.
don’t forget to get the star wars stamps when they come out!
Unlike tom up there, I actually prefer these types of stamps as a collector. It’s not about just filling some scott #s. It’s more about having fun and learning about the history behind the stamps I’d say.
