maybe you need to clean out the filter, and get some water plants and snails??

although your turtles might eat your waterplants and snails, but if you feed them regularly they might not.

I totally and completely 100% agree with mike!!! I don't have much money, and my turtles condition is great, and I have a light,a rock, water, and food. And that's it. But he is very healthy and doing just fine.

But my turtle live only herself, when she is doing this thing she put little stone was always between the her hands. First time I was shock, I thougnt she was sick. I think my turtle is a mate.... Her size is 9" over...
Without male, she can not laid eggs?

Gah! i've read all this stuff and its shocking how ppl have like.. aarguements about this like.. dude.. im planning on getting a turtle, and though i might not b able to afford all the 'fancy' stuff that is what you would buy to keep a turtle as happy as possible, i will be able to have a big enough tank, and the basking light and area, and i'll be able to provide food... like sometimes people worry too much. i mean.. yes we love animals.. and some people are super obsessed, but i think that everyone has their own way of taking care of their pets, i had a cousin before who like had this huuuge turtle, and liek when it grew he left it in this big hole.. thing.. and it died.. because he didnt take constant care of it, and it ate some weird stuff (they like dropped garbage there and stuff) so the point is, if you will be able to take good care of it in any comdition then you can be sure it'll have a long, happy life, but if you liek keep it in a like.. super tiny tank, no basking area, and feed it like once a week then yeah its gonna die.. so like dont criticize other just because they dont buy all the stuff that some people buy for turtles.. if the turtles are alive then thats what matters.. and if they're playfull and happy then like.. you dont have to liek spend sooo much money on them.. yes, turtles might be like complicated to take care of, but only if you like dont do it right, or if you worry too much like.. ok the feeding, yes do give it different foods.. not too many pellets (yes, its true.. its like feeding it fast food) give it like veggies and worms and stuff that they'd eat in the wild.. but you dont have to buy like 5 million different lights (and i dont mean 5 million litteraly) or like i know some ppl said like not to touch them... it has been PROVEN that turtles do liek to play with their owners.. you just have to be careful not to hurt them.. and to the pond guy (wthe guy building a pond) i used to have a turtle b4, it was in a little pond (first time i had it in a pond) and like i lived in some sort of rural area with trees and stuff like that.. so liek i left it in the pond and then came back and it was gone.. like it never came back.. so well i would say leave space for them to walk out of the pond, but like they should be kept in an enclosed area so they wont run away.. and to the person who made this porst.. the pictures are awesome.. and it seems liek you take good care of your turtles, because they are healthy and still alive.. and to everyone else.. dont criticize others.. if they dont take good care of their turtles dont say "oh you idiot thats not how you do it, you're so stupid lah blah blah" just be like "well i think you should do this and this because if not then it might die" or something.. dont go.. because thats just rude.. so yeah.. oh and btw.. its not wrong to buy turtles at chinatown.. if they are there to be eaten (as in liek buy them and cook them) then you are helping them by buying them, because you're saving their lives :) umm ok thats it lol.. im getting my turtle soon, hopefully :) and i'll make sure its happy and healthy by taking care of it in a way that i can afford... OOH! and by the way, another reason why people dont buy all that stuff (like they dont spend 500$) is because they cant afford it, they can afford like minimum stuff.. and as long as its like a tank, food, and basking area, the turtles will be fine! you dont have to buy a whole bunch of things.. you can buy a filter if you want.. liek if you're not able to change the water every 3-4 days or so.. but you dont HAVE to buy it... soo yeah.. its like if you talked about a software.. the 'minimum requirements' allow it to run normally, but if you want it to run like the best it coudl then you install or update to the better 'recomended requirements and/or settings' turtles dont need to be treated like royalty, they just need to have a home, where they are treated nicely, they are fed, and where they are loved and taken care of. :)
