I have three bala sharks in my tank. They like to school with my four swordtail fish and are not aggressive. It is best to have plants on the edges of the tank as they get bigger. Bala sharks tend to be a bit scittish and will run into the sides of the tank. Special care needs to be taken when cleaning your tank if you have balla sharks. It has yet to happen to me but has been said that the bala is nitorious for jumping out of the tank while cleaning.
