Buffaloheads were one of the first cichlids I ever spawned. They spawned regularly inside a flowerpot like the Kribensis. They are good community fish up to a point. Since they don't have a strong swim bladder they are bottom dwellers and are very agressive towards other bottom dwellers like catfish, especially during spawning. My pair ran a Bichir out of the tank were it died on the floor. So in a community setting keep them with top and mid-level dwelling fish and you should do okay.
