treatment as directed. *I have a lot of things floating in my tank. *I see a see through looking fungus type thing floating, on rocks, kinda like a worm, but I don't think it is. *My fish are staying at the bottom, and are twiching, I have treated them, what is going on???? Please help asap. *I love my fish, and I have lost almost all of them. *I only have a few swimmers and the rest are bottom feeders, they act as though they are in pain, and swim from side to side and they also, are not eating now. You need to post your tank readings. Just because you say your waters fine something may be off that you dont know about. Other than that all i can say is in the future have a hospital tank so you can notice the disease without it affecting your other fish.

My tank readings

Ammonia 0.0
nitrate 20
nitrite 0.00
ph- 70

My ph has been 70 for 5 years, my fish love it.  I think I had a parisite.  I did have a med tank, and they were to far gone to help.  What ever this was took over the tank, just don't know what it was??

Post Re: Help Help Help

Hi, Welcome aboard..
hmmm, it's hard to say. I think it might be nitrate poisoning. I had a problem with my Parrot fish laying on the bottom not moving much and problem breathing, but not my other fish.
I would not use medication first. Try turning up the temp to 80 F. and add small amount of kosher salt or aquarium salt. I also would change 30% water at a time and airate the surface of the tank. The other thing is to cut back on feeding them.
I would not use Clout since this harmful to bottom feeders. I use Formalit II which is safe for all fish. Just remember to remove your carbon filter when using medication.
What kind of rocks and other stuff you have in the tank besides fish that might causing the problem.
So what color is the fungus? worm? snail? or algae? and does it move?
That as much as I can help with the info you gave.
Hope it helps....

Post Re: Help Help Help

I have been doing 30% water changes and I did put a stone at the top just like you said.  That is funny that you said to do that, because I already did.  My tank stay at 80 all the time.

Thanks for your help.
