Just set up a 40 gal hex... using a eheim 2213 filter... has been running for day and a half... water is still semi cloudy and a lot of air bubble sticking to the glass... how long for this to clear up and what can be done ?

Welcome to the forums.
If you put some filter wool into the filter canister it should clear up quicker. It does take 2-3 days for a tank to settle down. You'll probably find that if it's up to temperature you can wipe the bubbles off the inside and they won't come back.
Are we talking sand or gravel, planted or not, cycle with fish or fishless cycle?

Give it a while and the bubbles will dissappear.
If you have baskets in that filter you can just spread ia little wool on the top of one.It doesn't take much space.Wet it before you put it in and don't make it too thick a layer as when it gets a little blocked it can reduce the flow that way. It's good stuff though. All canister filter owners should use it imho.

I agree...give it a few days. Patience is valuable in this hobby...

Might take a read on some of the stickies about cycling if you haven't already, since your tetras will be cycling your tank. Eheim is a great filter, good choice.
