| Got my light! So I took a quick personal at work about 2 hours ago and checked my bank account, and I FINALLY got my rebate check...
...so now I'm on meal and I jsut bought my light. I got myself a 36" 480w 2x175 MH/2x65w PC w/moonlights setup from ebay.
I know the tank is 48", but I like the idea of having 6 inches on each side where the light tapers off, which is why I decided on the 36" instead.
I'm really excited about this. My reef test kits should be coming in soon also, so once I have my parameters where they should be and my light, I will finally get my first corals in about 3 years.

Envy you: my, as I thought, unlimited patience lasted for one month...

| No, my patience is nowhere near that good either! About 3 years ago I had another tank, didn't really know what I was doing, and killed two brain corals after about a year. This time I am doing it right.

| Well my light arrived, so now everything is in place. I have a baseball game to go to tonight, so it's gonna sit on the floor for now
Tomorrow after work, if I'm not tired I'm gonna test my mag, cal, and alk and set the light up. I don't have timers yet for everything, but I am getting the Coralife Digital timer from Petco so that I can control everything with one unit.

| Question: when I shut the MH's off, they won't go right back on... is this normal?

| whew... that was scaring me. Everything is set up, but its kinda fugazi right now on like 3 timers and seperate power strips and everything. I need to get the Coralife one soon. I'm going to get some batteries today, so I'll post a pic or two hopefully.
