| Looks nice, but i would suggest getting a black background. I recently replaced mine with black bg's and im really impressed on how much different the tank looks. So i think you should give it a try. Also are you going to add more fish? Those schools arnt too big. Other then that it looks nice man good job. Sorry about your rainbows though.

| I dare anyone to show me a 'rate my tank' thread where a black background is not recommended by at least one person. Black backgrounds are not the be all and end all of aqarium design, people. I've been noticing this for awhile, but especially in this case... I mean, his rock background looks fantastic! It adds a great visual element to the top two-thirds of the tank, wheras a straight black background would make the tank seem a little flat and empty, I feel. This tank looks great, though, and if I had any suggestion it would be to try and find some actual rocks similarly shaped as those depicted on the background and place them in the mid to foreground of the tank. Nice tank as it is. |

| Looks great and the plants look pretty good, I'd suggest a tall plant to give some height, maybe a giant Val.
I have some and it's been spreading like crazy. I think the one stem cost me a $1.50 and now it has about eight offshoots.
Love the wood pieces.
Great tank would love to see it again in about 4 weeks.

| I wouldn't change your current background, I think it's fine. Taller plants, but you probably just need time for your current plants to grow "up". An amazon sword plant would be nice, just a little to the left of the filter intake. I like your use of branches. Overall, give it time for yoru plants to grow in and your tank will look great!
Plz post some more pics on this thread, I don't want to sign up to view your pics..:P |

| I also like the background the way it is! As the plants grow in, it will look even better complimenting the background even more. Great job and yes, more pics please!

| This may just be my stupidity, but shouldn't discus tanks have much lower light levels?
I do like your background the way it is though. Don't change it. |
