| $40.00 what a deal I got tired of the smaller tanks, so I decided to get a larger tank and break the 20gal, 2x10gal, & 5 1\2 down. I had everything down execpt for my 45gal (which of course is staying up) and a 20ga long. I was looking for a 75 or a 100gal. Not wanting to spend alot of money I was watching the classifieds of a local paper when I came across an add for a 55gal with no price listed. I called to find out, he told me $40.00 for the tank, metal stand, heater, and a huge Whisper filter. I had to buy it $40.00 was to good of a deal to pass up.
Well here is a pic. I built the hood, haven't painted yet but will this weekend.
Specs:
55gal
Substrate: 100lbs of med grit sanblasting sand.
River rock: $2.00 for milk crate full.
Plants: Hygro to start, topped it out of 45gal
Filter: Whisper second nature and a penquin 170-DOUBLEHELIX ULTRAVIOLET STERILIZER- 9 WATT with 126gph power head.
Lighting: DIY-Lighting: two 48" 40watt Gro Lux & two 48" 40watt 6,500K.
I will post new pics as work in progress. |

| Nice looking tank. I'm sure gonna check the classifieds before I buy my next tank. Hope I can find such a sweet deal.
By the way, how do your blue gouramis get along with your livebearers? |
