Default Kenny’s 29gal Goldfish Tank

No px for a bit since day px suck! But this tank currently contains 1 x Goldfish, 1x Dying Betta, 1x Bulldog Pleco, & 1x Golden Mystery Snail. Before you go assuming, the Betta is dying because he lost his friend and was utterly depressed so I thought maybe having 29 gallons to swim in, a consistent temperature, clean water, & filtration would help him out. Him and the Snail *might* get a better suited tank later on when I finish stocking in this tank…but I’m kind of hoping to put them in the eventual 55gal I’m going to be buying. Anyways, this tank is PACKED with various plants ranging from Jungle Vals to Rotala Indica! Finishing the stocking means adding in: 2x other fancy goldfish[Calico Ryukin/Black Moor] & 2x Weather Loaches…

That’s all for now, hope you enjoy my ramblings! I’ll be sure to post Px soon since this tank does look nice…but I might wait till I move a few plants around before I do…

in my opinion i dont think bettas would do well is larger tanks. something around 15 gal or less seems ideal for them, cuz they will have a hard time reaching the surface, getting food, etc.

Sounds like a cool project, do get some pics up soon

The betta finally died today. After about 2 weeks of not eating.

I'm going to do a 40% WC on the tank and that will be that.

Newman, I had 2 bettas in a 29gal before [not at the same time] and they both ate, swam, and got air just fine. I'm not buying another for this tank though. I'm in the process of bleach soaking the 5galHEX and finding some black sand for it.

Still no px though. Sorry!

Sorry for the loss man.

Were those two bettas female or male? cuz i've seen a male die in a 30 gal cuz it was too slow, and the tank felt too big/deep.

Both were males...both actually lived for about 2 years...so I *think* that's a pretty good lifespan for bettas.

Nice starting setup. goldfish looks in very good condition, well done taking care of it

cant really see the pleco clearly in the first pic (assuming its the brown blurry mush at bottom left in the first pic)

Nice plants. looks like some are having problems with brown algae =/ my marimo is having problems with that too.

Looking forward to more. And describe when you have the chance

Hahahahaha, you noticed the pleco! Well since you did, he he is acclimating from the 55 when I first put him in:

BTW: Brown Algae? I don't think I have any, but I do know my camera throws off colors...just wait till I have a new camera! [Then I'll REALLY have brown algae!!]
