Default Emmanuel's 2.5 gallon

In an attempt to one-up Ishar, I also got a 2.5 gallon planted. Haha.
Nah, I just needed somewhere to put one of my new male bettas, and I absolutely despise my 5g hex tanks...

This is what I did for a scape.
I used some play sand for substrate, and a desk lamp for lighting.

Flora:
Crypt Wendtii
Elatine Triandra

Fauna:
Male betta

I'll try to get a picture sometime this weekend, or next. I'm waiting for the water to clear some more

Why do you dispise your 5gal Hex Tanks? I have a Firebellied Newt in mine and he LOVES it. I do keep it very clean though.

Nice plan BTW. I hope it works out for you. I've heard E.T. is hard to keep.

Haha, it'll come soon enough. I need for it to be dark, there's too much ambient light. I need to get a background for it too. I was going to spray paint it yesterday, but as soon as I went outside to start the spraying, it started raining. I figured I'll just get some construction paper.

The 5g hex tanks are harder to scape, and I don't like the way they look.

I haven't had a hard time with ET, not until I started dosing Excel. I've stopped dosing excel, and it started to recover quite well.

That is my plan as well- that or some bristol board. Same as for my 20G. It works well enough in my experience .

I'll try to get a pic on Sunday, final exams and projects have been keeping me from taking pictures. I've had to stay away from home in order to study and do my projects because I tend to focus on my tanks at home.
The crypt has experienced some melting on a couple of leaves, same for the elatine triandra. It's done that for me in other tanks, so I'm not too worried about it.

Well Ishar, I think your voodoo magic may have worked!

My crypt is melting bad... actually, all the leaves look melted. I'm going to leave it for a week and see what happens. If it doesn't bounce back... I'll try again with another plant. It's the first time I've had crypt melt completely. I'm wondering if it had anything to do with my light?? I have a desk lamp with 20w.

My Elatine Triandra has experienced very minimal melting, I think I see a bit of new growth on it too, so yay, for now.

I've only got 3 weeks to see growth and determine if I need a new plant to replace the crypt... so we'll see what happens. If anything, I may just try an anubias... or do the original scape I planned, which involved some rocks, and anubias nana petites... everywhere!

I've been staring at my 100g for at least 1 hour each day... then when I get back to my room, I stare at the 29 and 10 for another while, haha.

I'm going to miss my tanks while I'm away from home this summer.
