| Lakea's 55 gallon Community This is my 55 gallon, it is still cycling.
I plan to get some Kuhlis, definitely want those, then a pair of angels, a clown pl*co. I am still working out what else to get, but most likely I will be going for blackskirt tetras and five banded barbs.
I love the pool filter sand which my kuhlis should enjoy. I think it looks great, pain in the butt to wash though. (Spent a few hours washing the sand and then it still made the tank cloudy and didn't clear up for almost 2 days). The sand cost me $12 but I only used half the bag so I was very pleased.
Lots of fake plants, a few from my old 29 and the java ferns from my 29.
Lots of rocks (I sat in the floor at the store making little rock structures for about an hour until I finally found some rocks I liked)
Then I have the big fake log thingy, great hiding place, also came from my 29.
And then there are a few other little things that came from my 10 and 29.
It has two power filters, Penguin Biowheel 170?/Whisper 60, they came with the tank so I'm using them. Luckily the Whisper has the same size cartridges that my 29g had so I popped those in to help get the tank cycling.
Whisper 60 air pump (which I got mainly so I could put that darn croc somewhere.
200W? heater
32 W Light (eventually when I have some more money I will get a better light so I could have a larger variety of plants, or maybe if I have time I could do some DIY lighting).

| Looks good!!!! But im not too sure about getting the barbs because they are nippy and could do some fin damage to the angels and tetras. But everything else sounds good!!!!!!!

| Oooo, I like it, but maybe you could get some more plants for the right side to fill it up a bit.

| Thanks you! I will be adding more plants in the future, with the right side I have some rocks stack under the sand so there is like a little burrow, that is why I don't have many plant over their yet.
And yeah I am still doing research on the barbs and tetras, so they will probably change in the future. I thought about marble hatchets, but I was a little worried about them jumping. But the kuhlis/plec/angels are what I am focusing on.
If you have some suggestions silver dollars, since you seem to be quite familiar with angels, I would love to here them.

Ooooo, okay, I think a rock cave would look awesome over they, maybe with some fake hairgrass poking out from some gaps in between the rocks.... Sorry, that is what I did with my 10 gallon....

| Harlequin Rasboras go well with angels and are peaceful. Pristella tetras go well too. What kind of angels are you looking for? Do you want anything specific or just whatever catches your eye?

| Columbian tetra's should go well with angels. They get a bit larger than most average tetra's, but I've not ever seen mine chase anyone other than one another, and then it's just a quick burst and no contact. I think they are more active than the normal tetra with a bit more color. And with a 55 you've got some room for a decent group of these guys.

| Adorkable do you have any pictures of your 10g? I would like to see what you have done.
I am planning to get marbled angels. I have one harlequin rasbora in my 70g so I think I will switch to getting some rasboras and then eventually more my one rasbora in.
On the many lists I have made trying to decide on stocking rasboras and colombian tetras were on there, maybe I will get colombians, I also like the pristella. I'll have to scout out the LFS and see what I like.

| I went and got a few more fake plants. Its a little greener on the right, but still not as much as the left. I will probably rearrange the plants again. I did have a question about java ferns. All the little sprouts coming from the leaves, will those grow into a normal size plants or will they stay small?
and in case anyone was curious to know what I meant by a little burrow, here's a pic.
The rock is sort of buried under the sand and I left a little tunnel there.
