Algae Cleaner/Eater...

I know this is probably a very common question. But a few points different than the norm:

1. My tank is pretty small (about 2.5 Galon/10L)
2. We tried amano shrimp but all 3 climbed/jumped out.
3. Our lid is not great for keeping things in (see above).
4. We have a lone beta and a few plants/moss in the tank.
5. Should be hearty (my first planted tank).

So I need something that likes to munch on algae, is easy, doesnt mind a small tank, and wont cut and run.

Note: we loved the amano shrimp, but unfortunately i think the tank is too small. They were really entertaining though and we were really sad they escaped/died.

Maybe some cool snails, I'm also thinking about trying to escape-proof the tank and try and get some more amanos, but i've seen them in videos climbing tank walls a little bit, and with my water level there, they can basically just walk out.
