Sounds like a good start! One thing to keep in mind is clean and clear looking water doesn't mean much at all. You need to know the readings for the parameters I mentioned above to help troubleshoot problems with your fish. In the meantime, If your fish is still having issues, and you don't have a test kit (such as the API feshwater master test kit), I'd do daily 50% water changes. Refill with dechlorinated water of similar temperature.
