Default Pregnant Blue Pearl Shrimp

Pregnant Blue Pearl Shrimp. Very cool looking shrimp. Nice colors. Gets even more ice-blue than the one in the picture. The female in the picture is young and pregnant for the first time (not many eggs and not really ice-blue yet). These breed at a young age.
Have these on pre-order for cheap in the store.

That's a beautiful shrimp

Maybe when it gets cooler here I'll think about some new shrimp.

Cool. Heat has not been an issue for me when shipping in case you are worried about that. I insulate well.

Thanks,
Ryan

The Blue Pearl get the same size as Red Cherries, maybe a tad bigger.

Doesn't anyone have air conditioning? I am here in miami and it gets in the mid to high 90's everyday. The AC keeps my tanks at 76-78F. My store has been up for 3 weeks from today. All of the reviews you see on the store were from this past 3 weeks and several were shipped to Cali, Ariz, and Tex. Insulation is the key. Regardless of outside temperatures, if you insulate the package well the shrimp will not be affected. In the USA it takes 2-3 days to ship. It takes 5-7 days to get shrimp from Europe. The shrimp from Europe arrive alive as well (just got a package from Germany on Friday that took 5 days).

The myths that surround shrimp keeping/breeding/shipping are everywhere, it is sad. I cannot tell you how many times per day I have to clear up myths. You wouldn't believe the stuff some people believe after having read it somewhere.

Ok well I guess my question, then, is... if I were to get a couple shrimp, they would be sharing the 2' x 1' tank floor with a clown plecostomus and a petricola catfish (each becoming maybe 3"), will there be too much competition for food? And if there is a gourami and two dwarf cichlids, will the shrimp be eaten?

The Pleco would be the only inhabitant that wouldn't eat the shrimp. The rest would.

That's what I thought. Thanks Ryan, maybe I'll keep some in a different tank someday

I just don't order livestock in summer. Next week the min. night temps are in the mid to high 80s, daytime 110 to 113 (or thereabouts). Even with insulation, if something goes wrong with the delivery, there's too high a risk of cooked pets.

I don't like to put the burden on vendors to have to deal with extreme shipping heat, and I don't like to put livestock through that, so I just wait for cooler weather
