| Ghost Shrimps Hey everyone is telling me that plecos get huge(I know they do) so do you think I could trade in my pleco in for maybe 2 or 3 ghost shrimps? I read that they eat algae and leftover food. Its like a algae scavenger! I'm excited with this idea so i was wondering if it would be a good thing to do.

| Yes they would be fine. They are very sensitive though. You will need to keep Iodine in the water for when they molt. And make sure the water conditions are pristine.

| Guppy_newbe, I have never put iodine in my water for any of the sghost shrimp I have had and they have all molted. Have I just been lucky? Should I start adding it? Where do you get it? Smalltank, I thought you could benefit from these questions to that is why I put them in this post.

| You have been very lucky!! I would definately get some. You should be able to buy Iodine at any pet store. I use the one made by Kent Marine for all my tanks. I bought 13 and I am going 13 strong!!

| id try to get more than 2 or 3 for your Pl*co, i think i paid 2$ for 10, a decent LFS will probably give you 10 or 12 for him.
