|  Preggo-shrimp? I saw a piece of something that looked like a dead anacharis leaf in my tank. Upon closer inspection it was a frozen brine shrimp, left over from feeding. It had attached to it a ball, the size of a betta ball of food. I thought it was weird that the betta hadn't eaten his food (he is gluttonous). So I pulled the muck out, and poked around at it with a toothpick. The ball exploded and a bunch of little round balls came out of it...they were the size of table salt grains. was that a pregnant brine shrimp? It had been frozen in a cube, and dead, but would the eggs survive a freezing and then live? If they did live, would they be risky to put in the tank, for feeding purposes? Thanks!

| that certainly sounds like the way in which they carry eggs- but I woudl not expect them to hatch- if by some freak occurrence they did, your fish would just eat them, no big deal. But brine shrimp need a decent amount of salinity and warmth to hatch. |
