Default What???? I dont get it....

One of my yoyo loaches is dead. this morning I woke up to find it laying on the carpet in front of the tank, all dried out. now the question is, how did it get out of the tank? the hood has a couple openings on the back for the heater and filter, but there's not much room for a fish to jump out there. and then, the fish was in front of the aquarium. but the hood was closed in the front, and i dont know how he could have jumped out of a closed hood?

poor fish.....

well...i guess he either jumped through one of the openings in the back of the hood (which is very possible) or he couldve had enough strength to jump right through the closed front...loaches can jump VERY high and with alot of speed, he couldve opened the front and jumped right out. sorry to hear of your loss

oh and uh...your male guppies must be very agressive...you should have 1 male guppy to ever 2 females...6 males to 2 females is a bad idea if you ask me. but maybe youre lucky...if i had 6 males and 2 females, the males would all kill each other.

well, the guppies were raised together from fry, so theyre pretty calm towards each other. theres only a little fin nipping, but thats pretty common among male guppies, and none of it is serious.

so im guessing he went thru the hood then....that sucks. im gonna start leaving stuff on the hood so they cant jump out any more...

hmm...fin nipping isnt common with male guppies really...unless you have too many males. do they do damage to each others tails or do they just nip them without doing damage? but yeah its different if they were raised together....

Yoyo's are very curious fish...to the point of their own demise. He probably got out the back and wiggled accross the top and off onto the floor. He just wanted to check things out is all, unfortunately it cost him

they dont do damage, they just chase each other around...kinda like friendly competetion for the females. they usually spend more time chasing after the females than they do each other. but the females usually have places to escape and hide, so i think theyre good.

yes but them constantly chasing the females is putting stress on the females....like Fishdude said it is best to have 2 females to everymale so it evens out the odds and allows the females to get a break from being chased
