Default pump gph for 20 gal

hi im just starting a 20 gal nano reef with a 10 gal sump refugium and i was wondering if 3/4 inch pvc would be enough for an overflow and what would be a good pump that i could use

3/4 is about right, depending on your return pump power. i have a 40 with a mag 5(600gph) and i honestly think its not enough. I would stay in the 300-500 gph range, 300 for normal purposes, 500 if you want some hefty flow. Alot of people use Mag-Drive pumps, quality pumps that rarely jam or stop, alot of good comments of mag-drives, there on marine depot under powerheads.
