24G AquaPod w/ 150w MH no mayo

It's absolutely fine to keep itl ike that till you decide how you want to aquascape. There don't, by the way seem to be too many aquascaping options on this shape of tank.
How much rock is that, I dertainly wouldn't add any more.

thats a good amount of live rocks.

so what your u planning to have in it? and is that enough light for clams?

I think It should be enough light for clams, It pretty much lights up the entire room to the point where I dont need to turn on any other lights at all. So I'm guessing if it provides enough light for me, it should provide enough for anything I put in there :P and a clam would be pretty damn cool in there.

As far as coral, I'm really confused, I want some frogspawn, Hammer, zoa, ric, and thats about all I know for sure right now. Feel free to drop some suggestions, as well as placement. Once I get my aquascape up for the rocks, i'll take pics and then you guys can tell me where would be the best possible locations for em. I dont want them crowding or killing one another.

frogspawn really spreads out. and can be very aggressive. if u want u can try some SPS XD

Hmmm, well thats talk for later on down the road. Did my aquascaping today what a freakin hair raising experience it was. Doing on bare bottom I was being extra careful and it still scared the crap out of me. Anything thats still alive in there deserves mad props cuz I messed around with it ALOT!

Now question time! When I go to add sand will I have to pick the rock up again? Or will it just settle on the bottom ok? That means a portion of the rock will be under the sand. So does that mean that I will in terms have less rock for filtration since some of it is under the sand?

I'll get the pics up tomorrow morning gonna let it clear up a bit overnight.

The sand around the rock will help stabilize it....I just moved my 20g into a 29g bowfront....I placed the rock on pvc pipes that I laid down for my pistol shrimp to burrow in....then the rock withsand around it.....you should be fine....looks great btw

my live rocks are sitting on top of my sand. i just dont want it to scratch the glass on the bottom. not as stable since it sinks into the sand but nothing to worry about its not like i have over 100lbs of live rock...

im planning to buy 20lb of live sand again and add 10lbs into my 10g (30lb of LS) and 10lb into my 3g. hope things goes well for you. i know it wont for me....

The problem with placing the rock on the sand is if you have sand burrowing fish etc. Their actions of removing the sand and burrowing will destablize your rock structure and you could easily have a rock fall which could not only damage your tank but also take out a few inhabitants in the process. My diamond gobie has over a year and a half moved every inch of sand from one side of my tank to the other.....they can move tremendous amounts of sand in a single day.......better to ensure it is stable right from the start
