| It was funny, I don't remember what we were talking about a few weeks ago, but I made the comment to my wife that I have patients of steel. She had been seeing all the previews for Little Big Planet for the PS3 and the more she saw them, the more she wanted a playstation. Me on the other hand, have been wanting one since GT5 prologue came out, then of course MGS4, but I knew she wouldn't go along with it until there was something she wanted as well lol. Long story short we finally caved and got one a few days ago. Bought her Little Big Planet, and I downloaded GT5 from the store (I'll think twice about DL'ing a full game agian. The PSN is SLOOOOW.) Due to either an honest mistake, or a unscrupulous salesman at Gamestop, I didn't get to start playing GT5 till yesterday though. Anyway, I'm looking for some good game recomendations. @ $60 a pop I'm going to think twice before I pick up anything. lol, games aren't falling onto the 'Greatest Hits' list as quick as they did with the PS2, or at least they don't seem to be. I'm a big racing fan. Anything with fast cars and skill needed is plus to me. Not so much on the sports games cept for golf. FPS, about so so. If I pick up a FPS, I'll probably pick up one, so whats the best to get for the PS3? COD4 looks neat. I like games where you have to think, not really puzzle games, but games that have little puzzles or riddles in the game play. So far I'm pretty impressed by what all this box can do. We got the newer 80gb that doesn't have any backwards compatibility, but honestly we've only had the PS2 turned on for a few hours in the past year and a half so I don't think that's going to be a big deal. The Kmart in town actually did still have the 60gb with the Motorstorm bundle, but it was $499 and the wife said NO. lol And my PSN ID is Orion-rs if anyone wants to add me. Not sure how the whole friends thing works yet.

| Not sure how the friends thing works either. Motostorm is awesome and not easy IMO. But the new one might be good. The upgradeable blu-ray is worth every dime! TW is the best game on the planet. What you need to do is rent rent rent till you love one! If you have ever played Civliztion, the PS3 version is differrent, but fun.

| COD4 Kicks a--, COD5 is coming out this month i'm a little disappointed that it is going back to the ww2 time period but oh well. Wonder why they changed the 80g to not be backward compatable, that was the big selling point for it last year.

| Congrats on the new toy, Orion. ![]() As far as racing games go, I really enjoyed playing a lot of the 'Burnout' series games on PS2. Not a big fan of the latest one on PS2 (called Burnout: 'Dominator', I think), but I absolutely loved Burnout 3: 'Takedown.' Anyway, there is an even newer Burnout series game out for PS3 which might be worth checking out. Not sure what direction they've taken this latest one, but if it's anything like Burnout 3 for PS2 was, then I'd say it's a must-have. Lastly, I can't help but mention that I absolutely love playing the 'Guitar Hero' series on PS2. Still gotta get the 'Aerosmith' and 'World Tour' ones though... (and just so you know, I've never played PS3...my recommendations are based on PS2 titles) BV

| Bunker- What is TW? I've got Civilization Rev. for the DS and love it. I know the graphics are a lot better on the PlayStation, but I'm not about to spend $60 for a copy of the same game. Actually EndWar looks sort of neat. You command your units via headset, you tell them what to do and where to go. Defiantly a rent first. If COD5 is out, then maybe COD4 will drop in price soon. That's one thing I loved about the PS2, the greatest hits list. Good games for cheap. I'm not a huge fan of the FPS games, but it has been about 10 years since I've honestly sat down to give any a fair shot. I played the demo for Bioshock yesterday and that thing blew me away. Plus just a killer storyline. I was told that santa might bring me that one. Brian I heard that they killed the BC on the new ones to drop the price to $399. Don't know how much truth there is in that though. Thanks BV- I may have to check out the Burnout games. And I'll pass on the Guitar Hero stuff, but thanks ![]() Heh, we've been using NetFlix for movies for years now I don't even know if our Blockbuster account is still active. If we do get out today I'll have to run in and see what I can't find.

| COD4 was a sweet game. Highly recommend it. Haven't had a chance to play a lot of games, but was impressed with that one. Only other PS3 game I put any time into was Assassin's Creed. Cool at first, but was just the same thing over and over in terms of missions and gameplay.

Other games we have are GTA 4 and half-life black box, which is half life 2, two expansions, and the wicked sweet Portal. Hate to say it, but I've been disappointed with everything so far except for Portal. GTA 4's fun for driving around but I never really got into it, despite the incredible graphics and in-depth environment. Oh, Silent Hill: Homecoming. Don't know how I forgot about that. I played it through and was impressed. Good story, but definitely the sickest and darkest in the series, also the most linear in the story. | |

| GTA4- top rated next to MGS4 on PS3 Bioshock- great story, creepy, and you do have to think to get around COD5- not much more than COD4, maybe 10 bucks more but game play is improved |

| If you like sports Madden 09, or NBA 2k9. GTA 4 is fun, but boring after a while. Also agree about Assassins creed, so repetive, we also gave up half way through and I gave the game away. Now Mass Effect is the funnest game I've ever played. Also oblivion. Played oblivion for over 2 years. Fable 2 I purchased, already done with, it's really quick, but it's still very fun.
