Default Olympics Anyone?

This thread is for anyone who enjoys the competitions and the spectacle of the Olympics.

Yes, I know China is a communist country and it is one of the worst violators of human rights but did anyone see the opening ceremonies last night? I thought they were a stunnning display of technology and imagination. The parade of nations seemed to go on forever but, finally, the Americans appeared in their Ralph Lauren suits and they looked great. I felt a little let down with the way they lit the Olympic flame. I thought the flaming arrow at the Barcelona games was much more impressive.

I'm looking foward to seeing Michael Phelps and Dara Torres swim this week. Track and field and gymnastics will be held next week and it will be interesting to see how we'll do. It will also be interesting to see how the athletes handle the smog, or mist, as the Chinese like to call it.

Holy shizzle dizzle, that was so friggin amazing!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, it was so cool. If you missed it, then you've missed something awesome. And lighting the Olympic flame was definitely not as cool and all the other stuff they presented. Like the huge circles of people that looked perfect and the weird picture thing. Kinda crazy in a way. But it rocked.

Technology? More like manpower. Other then the LEDs it was all men and women. Like the blocks, that was simply amazing, and done by real people. The precision was awesome, especially for just a couple of days of practice.

One of the first things that stood out to me was the kids carrying the flag and then the soldiers taking it from them and carrying it. That was sharp.

Amazing opening ceremonies. Anyone who missed it truly missed out. One of the coolest i've seen i think.
