| I've got a Mac Mini, no need for a laptop. :P
Although when I go on trips or something, I take my dad's Macbook Pro. |

I later found out I get the same discount with dell through school, and about 15% on Macs. Still a bit pricey for me though.
I like laptops, I have 2, my own, and one for work. I have a desktop in my room that I only use to backup my files. I have almost 1 terrabyte of space. I also have one that I keep in my dad's room. I only touch it when I need to print something, or he "breaks" it and I need to fix it.
Now you an MFT it from anywhere around your house!

Lets not open this can of worms My old (read: ancient) PC laptop weighs 6 lbs, the case and hard drive is held togeather with duct tape, and STILL probably runs better than 70% machines out there today. I'd use it more often if I didn't have to pull out the hand crank to power the battery....
And my desktop is 5 years old, and I'm able to process my photography without any issues. (Ok, the 1.3 ghz proc. makes it a bit slow when converting from RAW, but other than that lol) It even does fairly well with newish games like DOOM 3.
For less than 25% of the price of the beloved MACs, I can build me a new PC that would run circles around it. And with selective purchases from good manufactures, hardware can last for years. I recently pulled out a legacy sound card out of an old case that had been in my shed for two years in the summer, rain and winter. The card worked flawlessly.
