| My friend has a custom computer with 6 fans and a trillion LEDs. He braggs that it can download a terrabyte in 6 hours.
I agree that the macs are overpriced. Does anyone have the macbook air?

For less than 25% of the price of the beloved MACs, I can build me a new PC that would run circles around it. And with selective purchases from good manufactures, hardware can last for years. I recently pulled out a legacy sound card out of an old case that had been in my shed for two years in the summer, rain and winter. The card worked flawlessly. | sure but the options in the power macs are almost endless too.. you can upgrade them to no end.. the video processing is unmatched.. and I bought my powermac g4 for 55.00.. put a faster dual processor in it.. 2 gb ram and I have 2 hard drives in it.. for under 200.00.. so I think that is a great deal. you only pay a ton for brand new macs.. you can look them up on ebay and craigslist.. and get them really cheap.

| You said superior, and I disagree 1000%. Any workstation of whatever flavor is nothing more than a tool. You just need the right tool for the job at hand. If I needed a Mac, I would get one, no question. But I don't, so I don't have one. I don't care if I could get one for $100, I'm not going to waste my money just to be 'cool' when I could use the money on something I need.

| are you saying that I just wasted my money to be "cool"? I am not one of the dave matthews band geeks that just does what everyone else is doing... I got both platforms.. pc and mac.. and I can tell from what my experience is.. the mac is far superior to my pc's

| I didn't say that at all. I have no idea what you do or what your needs are. If you need it, or want to use it, then more power to you. I just find it funny that all of a sudden the past few years a mass exodus to OSX, and to me the majority just seem to do it because it's the cool thing to do. They like to blindly yell how great Mac is and how bad MS sucks, but for no good reason. These are nothing more than fanboys. I didn't mean any disrespect twords you.

I can build my own PC or notebook for way less than any Mac. And as mentioned before^^^It would run circles around any cosmetically pretty G4..
