Or rafting... Last night, my husband and I were invited to go rafting in the Colorado River. Since I'm afraid of deep water, I declined but gave my man the OK. The trip was to last 3 hours.. All seemed to go well when he called at the end of the trip ( I told him to call me to let me know he was finished and OK).. Well, Turned out he had a great "adventure". The raft that carried him and 4 other people and a dog hit a tree and flipped the raft over, causing everyone to swim (or try) for their lives. Sad thing was, none of them had a lifejacket except my husband (except he had just taken it off for a breather- it was sticking to his skin? I dunno!).. One of the girls managed to call 911, which was a good thing because two of them had to be rescued. My husband was lucky and experienced (he had a major rafting accident once before) and managed to run into some Russian Olive Trees on the bank of the river (which he's allergic to).. He suffered many scratches and LOTS of mosquito bites.. He has to get checked for West Nile disease in a couple weeks. Everyone else made it out safely and didn't suffer as much since they were wearing more clothes.. Go figure! My husband was born naked (always wears less clothes than me even)! Anyways, I thought I'd share this event... and ALWAYS WEAR A LIFE JACKET NO MATTER WHAT!! Now for his punishment, he's never allowed to go rafting again (which he figured when we went home).. And that also confirms it for me as well.. I cannot swim, I sink.. I'm so glad I didn't go! I'd probably drown!
