Your pics look great- really crisp and clear.

Yeah, I think you captured the nature of the average indoor cat rather well. Haha, when we get home, ours are always sitting beside their empty food bowls.

Katie it's going to take me a bit longer than 2 months to save enough lunch money to get many 'bells and whistles' Though I did get a bag and a 4gb card today. lol, just could not help it.

Thanks for all the kind words from everyone on my first venture into SLR photography.

We got one a few months ago. I haven't even had a chance to look at the manual or do anything yet

tisk tisk Lotus. I had the manual read within 24 hours. lol (and yes I do have a shirt that says "worlds biggest dork") Anyway, it's about time for a new photo of Eco's pet shark don't you think?

One item that has been invaluable in helping me start out is a for dummies book. "Digital SRL Cameras & Photography for Dummies" 2nd Edition. Sure the internet is a great source for free information, you just have to know enough to know what questions to ask, and I didn't know what questions that needed to be asked. This book has been great for just familiarizing me with the different functions of the camera, what they do and why they do it. As well as the different modes and some of the many accessories that I might need. I'll admit that if I had just sat down and read the manual without reading most of the dummies book first, I wouldn't have understood the manual near as well as I did. It also gives some nice basic tips on taking photo's, as well as post-processing them on the computer.

I got a new SLR today as well. It's a Fujifilm FinePix S2 Pro. Lucky for me my dad already has a heckload of lenses and filters.

Been playing around with the macro lens some I'm sure you all are sick of flowers by now though lol, but keep going to the bottom.

Yucca Flower Stalk:

Daisies:

Some beautiful Tiger Lillies in my parents backyard:

Ok, enough flowers for now. I was really disappointed how these next two turned out. I got the legs of the spider in focus, but didn't get the body. The spider was hanging out over by my parents house, so I should get back over there and try again. And the hummingbird photo's were taken at almost 9pm last night and there wasn't a lot of light as I would have liked. Not bad, but these could have been so much better.

I thought this one was pretty neat. My wife hates it! lol. Found this little fella on the top of the Yucca stalk and he was nice enough to hold still for a short photo session.

Ok Orion, you just owned me. I'm jelous now. Not only nice post processing with the borders and such, but catching a humming bird...its a feat i have not yet been able to acomplish (though i don't really have the setup/good place to do so)
