pets warehouse hosed me (long)

Boy, did I just take a hosing.
Normally, I hate to vent, but I feel the need to warn. *
* *I ordered several plants from Pets Warehouse back on 4/4/01, and I was thrilled that I'd found plants I was looking for at such a low price. *Today I recieved my order (note the post date), and I've gotten over the thrilled bit. *I'm furious now.
* *Two of the 3 items that I was most interested in never arrived. *I waited patiently for well over a month to get them (and turned down several what I now know to be better offers) only not to get my plants. The "filler" plants (the ones I ordered to make the minimum purchase amount) of course arrived. *Also, back when I'd ordered, I sent them several e-mails trying to clarify what the company ment by "12 lot price", and talked to them on the phone on several occasions. *I guess I should have sent more e-mails and called more, because the dinky portions of marisella and dwarf sag I got today aren't anywhere near what I thought I'd get. *Not only that, but I coulda gotten MORE plants for the money at PETSMART! *No deal here except a bad one! *I think the reason I didn't get my crypts and Windelovs was because the bull biscuits about "12 lot price" *would have been laid bare. *I believe they call that deceptive advertising. *Or bait-and-switch. *Take your pick.

Scrimman I really feel for you, have you got any government body that can help.
In the UK we have the trades description act to protect us against this blatant lying.
Do you have a citizens advice office or similar.
They really do need their asses kicked on this one.
Contact Tropical Fish Hobbyist and relate your story, they may print it and this would really make them look stupid. 8)

I got screwed by them as well, only not really in the same way.

You didnt get what you thought, I didn't get what I thought until a month or two later.

BTW..their customer service sucks. Their email response time sucks.

I would call them again and complain about it. Tell them how unhappy you are with your order.

Scrimman what a rip off! You should do something about this! That's outrageous. Barb I remember your story but no offense his is worse. Yours made my opinion of them go down no there is no doubt I won't ever order from them. This is a perfect example of why I don't order off the internet. So they didn't even send you some of the stuff you ordered? Or am I wrong there. I would call them and tell the what I thought of them. Which I'm sure they don't give a d*mn. And how could the price go up from $7.50 to almost $30? I am outraged and this is not even me! They shall BURN IN HELL SOMEDAY! Do try to do something. > > > > > >

Oh, I wish I'da read your post way back when, MaleRubyBarb.  Probably would'a saved me all kinds of heartache.  Yeah, I called, e-mailed, and sent in one of thier little comments forms.  They did call me right back, but all I got out of that was "Too bad, so sad".  Cloth, I think I'm going to take your suggestions.  I don't know where I'll start looking, but that's the neat thing about the internet.....it's good for researching things like addresses and consumer advocacy groups/agencys/whatnot.

awww, Im sorry you had a bad experiance with pet warehouse.  I order all of my pet supplies from them and have never had a problem.  I have never ordered plants, but I know there is a 60 dollar minimum order and they come directly from the grower, not Pet Warehouse.  But either way, Im sorry you got the bad end of the deal. :'(

I'm glad you haven't had problems with them, but watch yourself none the less.  I understand the need to make a profit, but if they decided not to be up front with me chances are they'll try it on you one of these days too.
And yes, I know they get their plants straight from the grower, but I didn't order them from the grower; I ordered the plants from them, and they got my money, not the grower.
