Default Sick Female Guppy

I got a female Guppy approximately 2 1/2 weeks ago. I noticed recently that she was acting lethargic. I treated for parasites, but there was no change, so I did a water change. Still nothing so I gave her some Fish Zole. Still no change, so last night I gave her fungus medicine. I also noticed last night small red spots (which is why I gave her the fungus meds). Today the spots appear to be bigger and redder.

Does anybody have an idea of what she may have and if so what I should give her?

Thanks for any help!!!

I have no clue about what is wrong with your fish. I've never seen something like this.

It is however, dangerous to just start tossing meds in your tank. You really need to figure out what your treating for before you treat. The wrong medications and combinations of different medications can have ill effects on your fish. Especially ones whose immune system is already compromised by being sick. You need to do a couple of large (50%) water changes wile running new carbon in your filter before treating with new medications.

Try checking the temp in the tank?
It being too cold could make the guppy lethargic.

Do the red spots look like they are on the skin, or are they bumps? Are they little? If so it COULD be Fish Lice. Fish Skin Disorders <--- where I got the info.

But I would clear out the meds in the tank. FISH DISEASE INDEX & MEDICATIONS FOR FISH DISEASE TREATMENT < -- the main site. It's a great one, I've used it to diagnose a few fish.

The water temp has been consistently at the correct temperature.

The spots, after first, were only noticeable if I got really close to the tank. However, now they are a fairly good size, I don't need to be close to the tank to see them. The spots are on the skin, but not bumps (from what I can see).

I did do a huge water change after I gave her the parasite meds.

When we ask for temp, we need numbers.

Water temp:
Nitrite:
Nitrate:
Ammonia:
Possibly pH while you're at it:
What else do you have in there? Could it be some other fish is attacking it?

Water temperature is 72 degrees.

Ph level is 7.2

Aside from the female Guppy in the tank there is 1 little Fry. The Fry is thriving and doing great.

I don't have tests for the other things you asked about.

I can't go out and get them either as I have a bad case of the flu and this about the most activity I have done in the last few days.

How's the guppy doing?

From what you are describing I would stop treating for parasites. Probably your best bet would be some kind of internal infection. I would try soaking food in a Furanace based medication for a few minutes before feeding. Could TRY Erithromyacin but only if you can't get a furan med.

Sorry for the delay in getting back! Between a wicked case of the flu and having pups chew through my laptops power cord I haven't had computer access.

She is alive and kicking still! She is actually swimming around. She got more spots several days after I posted. She has less now, but they are not gone. I did a Google search and found that others have had this happen (mostly to female Guppies from what I read), someone suggested ammonia poisoning. I did a HUGE water change, nearly all the water, the next day she started swimming around. She had been only laying at the bottom. The next 2 days I did water changes and she perked up more and more. Poor girl lost weight, I didn't even realize fish could get skinny!! Mostly because they die rather then get thin from my experience.

I have had the absolute WORST luck with live bearing females, especially the Guppies. I seem to have endlessly pregnant Platy girls that never have any fry.

Thanks for taking the time to ask about her!
