Question Gardneri and Neon Dwarf Rainbows?

I have decided on some killifish for my 29 gal. I see the neon dwarf rainbows are small and have similar requirements as the gardneri. Has anyone had experience with this species and is it okay to put them together. The information i have found on google is pretty generic. Any help would be appreciated. Also should i use peat in my filter or commercial black water extract? What food do they prefer?

I have 1 neon rainbow right now (long story) in a tank of larger rainbows, phantom tetras, Gouramis and loaches. He seems to get along well. Very pretty fish. I haven't had to do anything special to keep him. Never had them with killis, but I think they would do fine.

I actually got mine because my LFS had mixed a bunch of juvenile rainbows and couldn't tell them apart after they were in the tank. They made me a good deal to take the whole lot as " surprise rainbows". I ended up with 2 emeralds, 1 neon, and a few others that I haven't figured out yet.

I've kept and bred garneri and think you'll be fine, and they are remarkably undemanding.
