Hi :)
I have a lemon tetra that is about 3 years old and for the last few months he has been swimming with his head pointing upward. At first I assumed he was dying, but 3 months later, he's still here. When he darts across the tank, he swims horizontally. He is eating normally and is extremely difficult to catch (with a net). He doesn't seem to be in distress, I just feel bad for him when I see him doing what looks like treading water.

Any idea what's going on with him? Is it treatable?

Thank you

Could be from the effects of water quality, disease, stress or old age. Could also be from not having a proper sized school of lemon tetras. Tetras do best in large groups. Not uncommon for many tetras to live 6-8yrs with proper care.
