| Flaming people, its getting too far for the last week or two, i have experienced people flaming others in almost every topic, not just to me. i find in kinda mean, because many of the people who are being flamed r newbies, who dont know EVERY aspect to fish-keeping. some people dont even know who they are flaming. just yesterday, i was talking to some1 who flamed me before, and i asked, why did u flame me, and he/she said,
"oh, sorry, i didnt know it was you, i dont pay attention to things like that" No name provided
i have also seemed to see people who only flame certain people, and not really any1 else, which isnt fair.
i just think that this is becoming out of hand, and i think that this board should be a little more scrict to people who:
a) are off the topic to much
b) flame every single post another person makes

| hey brobro can you give some examples cause i can think of one but after arcab made his warnings it seemed to have calmed down.please forgive us when we steal topics sometimes they just evolve into other things, but i have noticed that sometimes right of the bat people go on about things that weren't asked.

| I agree, it has gotten out of hand, and alot of people need to mature on this board. For some reason this board has attracted alot of immature people, i don't iknow why.

| Flaming will always be a problem in a public forum so long as people feel the strong desire to voice their opinions. Sometimes it is because via email no tonation or intention can be implied. Something that is simply stated as fact gets misinterpreted as a flame because the reader is sensitised.
Whatever the case may be, the most important thing to remember is DON'T TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY! Easier said than done, especially when people appear to be attacking your intelligence or an accomplisment you are particularly proud of. But seriously, everyone here are virtual strangers to everyone else, so why get insulted over something somebody who doesn't know you said.
One of the best ways to stop flaming is to simply not reply to the flamer. All to often heated discussions explode because somebody felt they ought to get the last word in. Holding thy tongue is the more mature decision.

| LOL, i have to admit i've done it a couple times to fishboy sorry
LOL, yeah well i haven't done it for a long time and i usually don't see flaming around that often... which forum is it, i'm guessing newbie questions, etc...?
Iknow when i first came on here a lot of people were kind of mean to me, not mentioning any names *cough* nevermind won't tell, LOL
Maybe some ppl jsut don't like new-comers, it's called issues, they have problems

| It does seem like people kinda need to lighten up a little...we do have an increasing number of members (like two or three new ones every day) and with that the number of problems will rise...
I agree 100% with colsea, often times i is miscommunication, so if we all try to give each other the benefit of the doubt, and rather than assume someone is being a *jerk* just assume they aren't we will be better off...
Treat this like a work place...do you yell at people at work? Call them morons? Tell them to go away and never come back? I certainly hope not...unless you want to lose your job...so try to grin and bear it, ignore the little idiosyncrasies of everyone else and recognize that you have some too (I tend to ramble )

| sometimes people are just too uptight,, sometimes you just want to play a joke or smart off to someone just to mess with them, and they are not mature enough to handle a little ribbing, grow up people, what do you think is going to happen when you go to work in the real world, everyone is going to tippy toe around you being careful not to hurt your feelings, WRONG, its a dawg eat dawg world, and if cant handle it, your going to get eaten |
