Default Forum for tetras and characins

There is no special interest forum for characins and it would be nice to have one.

In what sense? Over the years there doesn't seem to be enough sustained information and questions to warrant their own forum. For the most part they are the average, general community tropical fish, and most questions or info fits pretty well in the general forums. Kinda like rasbora's. If there was a need for one it could certinaly be done.

I agree. Its to split down that way. This will stretch everything to thin in the sense it'd cut down traffic in the general areas where most of these questions are posted.

I want my own special interest forum. It's my opinion that a "Tom" forum will generate a lot of traffic. Additionally, it could prove to be quite educational and thought provoking.

The reason I asked was because msot informatio on the net is organized along the lines of the major fish families, ie... Cyprinids, Anabantids, Cichlids etc and I noticed that the only major group missing here was Characins or tetras. I can see how too many seperate forums would become a PITA to manage.

I guess the better question should have been where to post about tetras.

Characins ALSO includes piranhas and pacu too though. It's easy to forget when you're watching your neons zip around your tank but they're in the same family.

lol, I'm always reminded of where my Columbians come from when I see them eat and see their little teeth.

Generally speaking there just isn't a lot of diversity for tetra's, like there is for say cichlids. They all breed in pretty much the same way, eat close to the same foods and so on. Not trying to come down on you or anything

The general FW forum is as good of a place as any for tetra discussions.
