Post Create an archive for old threads...

Here's a thought - How about an archive to store old threads that haven't been updated in a while?
Define the time (2 weeks, 4 weeks, etc...) and if there has been no new activity - move the thread to the archive.
The original sections could be maintained (Freshwater Beginner, General, Equipment, Plants...) but move the old, stagnant posts there. *Have them still accessible through "search". *

I get a little discouraged when I enter a topic and see there are 20 pages of threads. *

Just a comment...
you are still my favorite fishin' hole! **

heh,

I mentioned this a while back to johnny, but for a different reason.

Mine was more for threads that were old, and people were commenting on what to do on threads that obviously were now not valad(like a sick fish)

But as he said, he wanted to leave them open for the new comments so new remedies could be added or reopened on the same subject.

This way(my opinion), new remedies can be added, or new problems of similar circumstances without having to retype what has already been stated or opening anothe thread of the same nature.

I agree smiley* What if you post a topic and no body answers your Question. Then someday someone new with the answer can come and give you a response.

thanks,

but even if we wanted to do that..i just took a look at the admin for this messageboard and there isnt' an option to archive it. so i guess if we really wanted to get rid of old threads..we would have to delete them. but there are valuable information in the old threads so don't think that will work.

but thanks for caring.

Well - I guess that was another resounding, "No." * *

I wont take it personal, * oh no.
I'll just slump on back to the depths of my deep, dark tank, along with the rest of the scum sucking bottom dwellers... * :-[

I'de go visit the folks on nano-reef, but they laugh and point... because I don't have saltwater *- *oh, the pain.
