Post Just a question for ya arcab

Okay I was just wondering if you write all the code for the pages by yourself or if you use dreamweaver or something.  Because I am starting a webpage and I have a pretty good knowledge of html but I mean it just takes so much time to write and maintain it.  Especially if you have such a big site like myfishtank.net

Thanx for any info.

Hey Fender,

The site is pretty much written in php/mysql with some help of cgi-scripts for the profiles/toptanks/messageboard.

With the exception of those special sections, everything on this site is hard-coded. Even though you'll find using dreamweaver/frontpage/etc alot easier in the beginning, you'll eventually find hardcoding your own code alot more flexible and easier.

hope that helps!

Johnny

yes that helps alot.  thank you very much.  How did you learn php and mysql?  From a book?  Because I heard they were much harder than html and learning html on my own was hard enough. Thanx again!
