Post Pictures of my 29gallon FW tank! finally!

so i was pretty bored today so i thought i might as well take some pictures of my tank since nobody has ever seen them. here are some quick specs on the tank...

2x55watt - c02(2bubbles/sec) - eheim2224filter - substrate flourite - bunch of tetras - 3 german bluerams - 2 SAE - 1 american flagfish - too many amano shrimps - too many snails

so basically i took out all the plants in the tank except for the glossostigma and i let them loose. once they start growing..they grow pretty quick.

front-view shot: look..i'm in the reflection! haha.

right side view: glossostigma everywhere!

leftside view: more glossostigma!!

top view: alot of greens...

Nice green bottom. Can you get something to go up the rocks as well? I saw a "grassy plains" look in an amano book he had it covering the rocks as well.

What fert and how much do you add.
Did you get that online or at a LFS(glossostigma)?

i triedto get that hilly look but then the glosso grew so much it sorta got rid of the hillylook. darn!

only plants i have in there are glossostigma. that's about it. i got a small pot full at my LFS and it grew from there!

and i don't add any fertilzer either...a bit afraid cause the glosso's are already growing out of control.....

happy thanksgiving!

I didn't realize glosso's look so nice.  Where did you get them and how much did they cost?  It must cost a bundle to cover the entire bottom doesn't it?

Post Re: Pictures of my 29gallon FW tank! finally!

well...i got it at my LFS. since the glosso they had there was growing upwards it was a pain to divide them into smaller pieces and then planting it. a word of advice..plant your glossos DEEP. i had trouble with them floating back to the top and now that they're growing..their roots are coming out of the subtrate. i only had a pot-full of glosso and it grew slowly at first..but then when they started to "merge" it started to pick up and now they're growing really fast. i'd say it took a good 3 months to get to where it is now starting with one small pot of glosso.

it's much more beautiful in person. i'm having problems taking pictures of them becaues the lighting is so bright that it reflects off the glosso. the pictures u see now are with my hood open..and u can still see the light reflecting off the bottom.

oh yeah..it cost me. 3.29 for that pot of glosso. patience is the key. hehe. my next step is probably to add some hairgrass inthe corners so it's not so "flat" but i hoping the hairgrass won't grow out of control and take over the tank. doh!

Wow that tank is great. I wish I could find some glosso around me. Oh well. I am going to have to redo my planted 29 though. ;( All the plants the lady sold me are bog plants except for the few hygros that I have. They are all turning yellow and stuff and the tank looks horrible so I am never going to shop there again. I know another store that knows what they're plants are but they're kinda expensive. I'll get it though. Hopefully they'll have some hairgrass and glosso along with some taller plants for the back. BUt anyways nice tank. ;D miley*

Yes, those rocks are so cool-looking and were they expensive?  It looks like some rocks that are usually seen with bonsai trees.
