| 20 gal for the first goldie, 10 for every one thereafter... more if you're going to add some other fish, such as a weather loach or some minnows. Plus, get a filter rated for a considerably bigger tank. Goldfish put out a lot of waste, you will need more filtration than you think. Long, low tanks, which have more surface area than tall tanks, are better for goldies.

| Absolute minimum would be a 36" (91 cm) tank (30 long -- 25 UK gallons) As bunny said, you also want double filtration than what you'd typically use.
