Default White spots and missing scales

Hello! So nice meeting you!!!

My 40g tank houses two fish. Lately, I noticed some white spots on their fins, I guessed it was ich and for the past 10 days I have been treating with salt and I have also raised the temperature. No2 is 0.
Now, they also miss some of their scales...

What is this all about?

Missing scales is pretty common, sometimes it's from damage when fish bump into tank decorations, so be sure you don't have sharp edges inside the tank.

As long as the missing scale area is not red or inflamed with no cotton-like growths (ie: fungus), I would not worry about it.

Now, with Ick, you need to treat the tank for a full Ick cycle, which is 31 days. I usually use a product called 'Coppersafe' to kill-off the Ick, but high salt and 84F will also do the trick, but its just as hard on the goldies.
