Default a tragedy with my 55gallon

Halloween morning was a bad day for my tank. my tiretrack eel which i got at four inches last year had survived the transfer from 37g to 55g a couple of weeks ago but last friday nite he lifted the plastic lid and fell out of the tank laid there til saturday morning. I couldnt believe it didnt even think this could be an issue but my 37g did have a glass lid on it which is noticeabily heavier. the eel was about 12 to 13 inches long now damn.

thats terrible. so sorry for the loss. that is one strong eel. maybe next time you can put some weight on the sides, get a glass lid for any tank that houses such an eel, or get another eel species that doesnt grow that large...
too bad "only death prevents man from making blunders"

sorry for your loss again.

another tragedy in the same tank there was a small opening on the back of the hood where my powerhead is seems my african butterflyfish that had for over a year got out was laying there dead behind the stand. i think this tank is cursed no problems when my turtle was in there try putting fish in and now my tiretrack eel and butterflyfish is dead and one of my bala sharks died in the transfer and now on of my silverdollars in the tank now has a mouthfungus which i figure is from stress since their such skiddish fish.
