Woah, easy with the smilies there...
I would be careful about that common pleco. i made the same mistake of buying it for a 40Gallon. It will outgrow your tank, and mess up any live plants that you may want to keep. I suggest getting a bristle-nose pleco instead. Make sure to get a species that doesnt grow too big (under 6")

Otherwise congrads, hope they'll like their new home.

Mine grew from 3" to 6" in about a year and a half. This is ONLY because of improper tank handling, ammonia spikes, cold water temps, and poor diet (my parents only fed it with algae wafers.)

Under NORMAL conditions, a common pleco, in a 40gal should grow to about a foot long in one year, no matter what size he started at.

Its up to you man.

Yep, mine was a monster within a year, around a foot long. And 18 inches? More like 24 in good conditions, they're not suitable for tanks any smaller than 100 gallons.

Is a albino chocolate pleco okay for a 44 gallon tank with live plants?

No, too big in the long run, and likely to dig up all your plants. Albino chocolate plecos are basically albino common plecos, the terms "common" and "chocolate" actually apply to a very large group of similarly sized/shaped plecos.
