Default cichlid problem

my sunkissed cichlid is chewing on the others.. screwing up their sides and eventually is going to kill one of the others. I have 4 cichlids all african in a 55gallon. What to do? It's the only tank I have.

I would call my LFS and see if they will take a trade. Otherwise, you are going to have a large tank with one fish. If they don't take it, try craigslist or you can post it on aquabid and do a pick up only, if you do not want to ship.

add more rocks to create better territories. breaks up their line of sight too, which can help ease aggression.

I don't know if you looked at my tank setup and pictures.. but when I had the gravel, the guy getting picked was always inside of a rock. Now that I got rid of the rock gravel, put sand in, and took out a decor, hes outside, getting his tailfeather kicked.

I'm confused. Punkrockfish was telling you to add in more territories, and instead you took some out? It makes sense that they need more places to hide, and changing the decor is stressful anyway, I'm not sure why you did this at this point in time. Am I missing something? It sounds like you need to add the caves, etc. back to the tank.

This sounds like a scenario where there simply aren't enough fish (and/or perhaps less than ideal sex and/or species ratios/combinations) to adequately disperse aggression.

It might be helpful to give us a list of what species you have, and be sure to let us know which are male or female. Some of our African cichlid keepers would probably be able to steer you in the right direction once we've gotten this information.
