Default Cycle Finished! Ready to stock my 29g!

Okay, so this is what I am thinking:

1 male Betta, 6-8 Head & Tail Light Tetra's, AND EITHER 3-4 yoyo loaches or 3-4 cory catfish.

Opinions? Should I do yoyo loaches or cory catfish?

I'm also thinking of adding a clown pleco later on...

My substrate is gravel. I plan on doing live plants, but as of right now, there isn't anything in the tank... besides gravel.

AND THEN: in my 10g (where my betta currently is) I will get a pair of either Blue Rams or Cockatoo's. The profile for cockatoo's says they are easier to keep than the blue rams, so I would prefer those guys.

gravel isnt the best for yoyo loaches or cories because of their barbels and they can hurt themselves on it... but if you plan on adding only 3-4 of each I'd go with the yoyo's because the cories usually do best with 5-6 and yoyo's should be fine with about 3

I'd leave the betta in the 10g and do the rams or cockatoos in the 29.

If you do go planted, loaches are awesome for snail control. I really liked my yoyo's. Too bad my last one went carpet surfing about a month ago.

I was thinking of the rams or cockatoos in the 10g because I think I remember reading that they preferred the bottom of the tank. So I thought I could do the bottom dwellers in the 29 and let the rams or cockatoos have the 10g all to themselves.

Default Pictures!!!

I got 8 red eye tetra's, and 1 clown pleco. Blue the betta is still in the 10g for now, until I make up my mind.

What do you think so far? My lfs had a bogo sale so I stocked up on fake plants, haha. I figured they were worth it for now, until I get ready to go planted. I also got my red eye tetra's for .88/each. The pleco was 6.88 I believe.
They are all being a little shy right now, I'll be keeping an eye on them tonight. The tetra's have swam through the bubbles on the back wall already- I thought that was awesome! I wasn't sure if the current would be too strong for the fish to swim through them. I am so glad I found a schooling fish that I like. It is totally cool to watch them swim around together.
Yay!!!

LOVE the pictures!! Thnx for sharing.

I really l;ike the blue vase. Great touch.

Personally, I 'd go with some cories.

SOmething about the word 'loach' makes me queezy.

I have some tetras too. They swim into the water return from my HOB filter. Its fun to watch them have fun.

Thanks, TAL!

I got the vase at Lowe's last night- it was $7 which I thought was a pretty good price for a vase that size.

So, I went to lowes and bought a couple fittings and 35' worth of clear tubing to run my siphon into my kitchen sink and then hook the tubing onto the faucet to refill my tank- diy python style. about $12

Haha, yes, I love cories, but something about the loaches just really attract me... my Mom doesn't like them either- haha.

Loaches are REALLY cool but so are cories! Hmm hard decision.. Cories are cute to watch in the sense that they always look so hapless and unbothered and in a dreamy sense, but loaches really have a draw, you'll fall in love with yoyos because they've got so much personality! Hmm, personally I'd go for cories just for an overall look, but it's down to what you want out of the fish at the end of the day, both of them would be pretty much perfect for the tank.

Default Love it

I love the pictures, and agree the vase is a wonderful touch.

I also noticed that the tank seems to be set up in a nice alcove which looks like it was just made for the tank.

Thanks again for the pictures.
