| I've heard nothing but good things about them. Always purchase one that rated for more than the tank it's intended for. If I was shopping for a cannister I would not hesitate to pick one of these up.

| No problem! There are quite a few here that use them, so I'm sure they'll chime in at some point. You might also try searching the 'Equipment' forum for any prior opinions if you can't wait.

| I do know what you're talking about, I actually just saw it. Haha. I personally have a biowheel HOB on my 55 gallon, but I have read nothing but good things about canister filters on here, if that helps.

I think its funny the first thing i read on this forum is "One fish tank leads to another and before you know it your addicted..." i can safely say i am an addict! lol. |

| I have two XP3s running on my 75gal. I really like them. Seem easy to setup and maintain. They are just a good, simple filter. Mine have both been running for about three years without any problems. The only replacements I would consider for them would be some Eheim canisters. The provide a slight improvement in performance (so I've heard) but you end up paying quite a bit more.
So go buy that XP3 (or even an XP4) with confidence. It will do a great job for you.

| I love the XP series! We have 3 XP3s and a XP2. I always run them with a HOB filter, usually a biowheel of some sort, just to add to the filtration and expecially the surface agitation.
In my opinion, the XPs are the best filter you can get, great performance, seem to be extreemly durable and long lasting, and have great versatility when it comes to media. I personally ditch the carbon and add extra bio media, coarser pads for the big guys, and as much ceramic media I can cram in there on all tanks. I even use the ceramic media in my HOBs with a sponge (usually just a modified aquaclear sponge and a piece of cut to fit filter pad) to top it off, keep it all in, and catch any solids.
