Default Live foods?

I was out in the yard before and found the kids pool with about 3 inches of water in it from the storm we had yesterday. In the water are hundreds of mosquito larvae...

Can I net them and put them in the tanks for my fish to have some treats?

yea shouldnt hurt anything unless the water contains pesticides or weed killer from spraying the yard..but you need to get rid of them too..u know west nile and all that.

I was thinking some more on it and you may want to freeze them to kil them before u do just so if any go uneaten they dont get the chance to mature in your tank

I read another thread, could have been on the NANFA site, about that very thing. A guy was breeding mosquito larvae to feed his fish. Caught them just before they began to "pupate". Claimed it was healthy, made them grow, and the fish loved them.

I'm thinking of giving it a try.
