Default fw help

Im taking down a SW tank and moving when we get to the new place my wife wants to set it up as a fw tank.. The only thing i want in it are ghost shrimp.. Are most fish compatible with those? Its a 55g tank.. Not sure what kind of fish to get.. I was looking at some planted tanks and they look pretty nice.. What kind of 'soil' do you use for those? Any stocking suggestions?

If the fish can eat it, it will. So if you keep shrimp stick with smaller fish. Why are you so interested in ghost shrimp? I ask because they are pretty plain looking compared to the many other ornamental shrimp available.

For "soil" any of the plant substrates on the market will do. You got Fluorite, Laterite, eco-complete. The eco is my personal favorite as it is almost black. Although Fluorite has some new plant substrate the is black in gravel form and in sand form. I'm kinda interested to see how well the sand looks. I'm about to set up a 20L planted native/shrimp tank. Think I may order some for it.

If you want to go the cheap rout you can always use unscented kitty litter.

LOL I figured it was something like that.

There are a lot of different shrimp to choose from AquaBid.com - Your Aquatic Auction Website is a good place to start. Planet Inverts.com Store is a good source of information and also gives you a better idea of what all is out there.

Do your research if you decide to get any of the Salawesi Shrimp. New Sulawesi Shrimp-- Guitarfish
