| Collection Trip Now this would be sweet. AquaBid.com - Your Aquatic Auction Website
Too bad I didn't know about this sooner. Looks like this is an annual trip. Think I might reserve a spot for next yr. Oh the photo opts.
Who else wants to go? 1550 is dirt cheap for a trip like this. |

| That seller is Ken Davis, isn't it?
I hear his name mentioned a lot over at the cichlid-forum, and he seems to be held in high esteem by many hobbyists.
Yeah, sounds like it would be a fascinating trip.
How do those things work anyway---you get to keep whatever you catch? Dang, that'd be fun. I just might do it someday...assuming finances permit...

| It does sound like a good price, although it doesn't include airfare. Sounds like a great trip! |

| Haha Ken offered a spot to me at the ACAs, i had to tell him i'll pass this time. Its tough being in the Marine Corps and doing something like this. My command will want all this info and stuff since i'd be leaving the country etc etc. Might miss a drill date, bunch of stuff. Its easier just to wait and go later. Would love to one day though.
It really is a great price for what you get. I'm not sure how they decide who gets what, i'm sure they are a generous enough group to let you have your pick. Catching them of course is a group effort. Its probably just a pick and choose, trade this for that, etc.....but i couldn't tell you for sure. Ken said they should see lots of geophagus on this trip.
Big Vine, Ken is a importer of various CA and SA fish, cichlids really. He is an ACA board member as well as the president of the Atlanta club. His name is out there, he's been in the game for quite a while. He's a good source of info.
This trip is a good opportunity. Usually you have to be in the know with the right people to find the collection trips.
