Default Help with Filter for BIO-Wheel system

Hello,

I currently have an Aqua Tech fish tank (Regent / Aqua tech) and it has a Bio Wheel filter system.

The replacement filter cartridges are getting very hard to find.

They are EZ-Change # 6 cartridges.

Can someone tell me were I can get a cross reference chart so I can find a compatible filter cartridge.

My filter cartridge is a carbon / pad type and is 5 & 3/4" (L) x 3" (W)

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Get a roll of polyfill from a craft store or the craft section at a department store. Just be sure to get the stuff that doesn't have the anti-bacterial stuff in it. You can use this, plus the plastic shell from any current or old filter cartridge laying around to make your own. Just carefully cut the blue stuff off and toss the carbon. Take about two layers of the polyfill roll cut the shape of the filter and there ya go. I have been known to use a rubber band from time to time to help keep the polyfill on better, but you might not need to.

I have also seen some online vendors that sale replacement cartridges for all the major brands of HOB filters. I've not tried them, but they looked easy enough to use.
