Default Nano Cube/Fresh Water

Has anyone on the board tried setting up and running a nano cube (JBJ) as a freshwater?

The pulsing wave timer is an interesting device, which I believe is generally used in salt water tanks, with a coral reef.

For those that do not know what I mean by a Nanocube- they are self contained tanks, with good filtration built in (two powerheads- high end lighting).

After a 20 year hiatus between having fish tanks, I decided to set up a tank, and prefer fresh water. I am certainly surprised by how much things have improved, and how much easier things have become.

Thanks for any feedback.

If you want a FW nano tank, I would say you could go with something other than the JBL and get it up and running cheaper. Reason I say this is that FW equipment is generally cheaper, and the SW nano world is a hot ticket item right now so they are going to be inflated some in price. I have seen similar if not identical tank designs in stores for less than $50.

Just something to think about. If you've already got the JBL, or want it, there isn't any reason you can't use it FW. If it's used just make sure it's cleaned very well. If it's new then you don't have to worry about that.

Welcome back to the hobby and to our site! I'm amazed at how much has changed in the close to 10 years I've been in it.
