| Wait, so you got a snail on plants that you took out of the pond? I recently got two snails on plants I bought from Petco. I just put them in with the betta and they are living happily. I don't feed them anything. I'm just assuming they eat leftovers and algae...?

| I'm not sure what my new snails are, but they are bigger than this --> O
The ones in my 20g are ramshorn snails and I feed them to my dp.
Do yours look like this?

| Yeah snails eat algae and vegetable matter, if they get hungry they may start to much on your plants. Snails can sometimes introduce parasites and as I have learned the only way to kill off parasites will kill off snails too. But yeah, they are pretty easy to take care of, they'll be fine.

| If they're from your pond, they are likely living off your plants. Most kinds of pond snails multiply REALLY fast, too. When I did pond tanks I remove them when I wanted to keep the environment controlled. Or crush them when they're still small. Or you can keep a carnivorous insect with them (Like giant water bugs. They are SO cool). But you seem like a snail lover, so you can throw in a big wad of floating algae and it'll keep the snails off your plants for the most part.

| He will stay by the water. Sometimes snails come just out of the water, but no further.
For my sister's birthday I forgot to get something, and she wanted a pet, so I put a snail in a corked 100ml jar with a plant.
