| 3 inch Worms in Gravel Hey guys, it's been awhile!
Recently my dad and I drove my two remaining tanks (90g and 20g) up to North Carolina for him to care for. He's had them about a month and a half now and he called me today with a little problem. He lifted up one of the rocks and a 3 inch worm fell off and buried itself in the gravel. He says he was able to get it out of the gravel a number of times but it kept reburing itself. He described it as a whitish colour with a redish "head". According to him all the fish appear healthy (besides a random Killi death the other day).
Any ideas as to a) what these could be and b) how he can get rid of them?

Maybe a nematode? In any case i'd cut the feedings a little and do a WC or 10. Ok maybe just a couple.

| Haha, good to see you C-Man
I've had nematodes before (I think...) and it didn't sound like them. I think he's a sucker for feeding them when they "look" hungry, so I'll tell him to cut out some of their snack times. I'll see how he feels about water changes- the tank has some pretty decent plant growth in it, so syphoning maybe hard. No reason he can't cut down some nitrates though! Thanks

| That was just an uneducated guess LOL, but it sounds as though the worms come about from feedings if they are in the detritus traps like under rocks and in the gravel and all, instead of on the glass/plants or free swimming.

| Hey FishGeek! Things have been going well for me (but I'm so busy...), how about you?
Technically I still have my Zebras... they just live with my dad now in North Carolina. They survived the drive up, no problem!
