Default Temp fluctuation

I set up my 30g in the summer, so I haven't needed a heater yet, but the water temperature does change by about 5 degrees between day and night. Does this stress the fish? I've wondered if its something natural in the wild, but tank with heaters generally keep the temperature constant.

Its best to have a heater to maintain a steady temp. Some fish may be stressed by this but not all. Id be mostly worried about your Neons. You also have to keep in mind that most of these fish are not wild caught and therefore dont like exactly how they would in the wild. Things may bother them now that wouldnt in the wild.
